Band ABSURD from Gliwice was founded in 1985 by the guitarist Darek Dusza, who had left the legendary band ŚMIERĆ KLINICZNA. They played punk rock with a bit of cold wave. They gave concerts at numerous famous festivals in Poland, such as: Róbrege ‘85, Fama Świnoujście ‘85 or Jarocin ‘86. The record studio Tonpressed released their single with the most famous piece Dżuma. ABSURD played till 1987. Darek Dusza their guitarist and leader is still a famous figure at the punk stage. Now he leads the band REDAKCJA. He has also written his own biography Jestem ziarnkiem piasku [I’m a grain of sand].
Nowa dyskoteka is still up to date. Sometimes the punk concerts constitute “medium” for pseudo-bands, their managers, as well as audience who do not listen to what their idols want to say, but let be taken by the fashion and “lively” music coming from the loudspeakers. Concerts become sham, sometimes source of income and have nothing in common with authentic punk message.

Gliwicka grupa ABSURD powstała w 1985 roku z inicjatywy gitarzysty Darka Duszy, który wcześniej opuścił legendarny zespół ŚMIERĆ KLINICZNA. Grali punk rocka z domieszką zimnej fali. Wystąpili na wielu znanych festiwalach w Polsce, takich jak Róbrege ‘85, Fama Świnoujście ‘85 czy Jarocin ‘86. Wydali oficjalnie w firmie Tonpress singla z ich najbardziej znanym utworem Dżuma. ABSURD działał do 1986 roku. Ich gitarzysta i lider zespołu, Darek Dusza, do dziś jest znaną postacią na scenie punkowej. Obecnie prowadzi zespół REDAKCJA. Napisał też swoją książkę biograficzną Jestem ziarnkiem piasku.
Nowa dyskoteka nie straciła na aktualności. Zdarza się, że koncerty punkowe to „pożywka” dla pseudozespołów, ich menadżerów, ale i odbiorców, którzy nie słuchają, co mają do powiedzenia ich „idole”, a dają się ponieść modzie i „skocznej” muzyce płynącej z głośników. Koncerty stają się pozoranctwem, czasami źródłem zysku i nie mają nic wspólnego z punkowym autentycznym przekazem.
