MAGISTER Z WYCIĘTĄ PRZYSADKĄ MÓZGOWĄ – is a band which was formed in Ostróda in 1983. They played punk rock with intelligent lyrics. In 1986 they played at the small stage at the Jarocin Festival. Their songs could be heard in the punk broadcast “Radio Nieprzemakalnych” frequently. They gave concerts once in a blue moon, because they had difficulties in finding place for rehearsals. The band broke up in 1989.
The situation of the Polish punk in mid 80s did not present very good: the Jarocin Festival fell into decline and less and less people were into punk. Degeneration spread in the subculture and fights with Nazi skinheads started. Only few bands were successful to produce their records in state companies and they were accused of betraying the ideals. Punk bands in Poland especially these from small towns such as MAGISTER felt void and lack of perspectives for their activity. They showed it in the piece: What a despair to drift away in silence. When the socialist system in Poland fell, an independent stage was born. Idea Do it yourself became a fact.

MAGISTER Z WYCIĘTĄ PRZYSADKĄ MÓZGOWĄ – to załoga, która powstała w Ostródzie na Mazurach w 1983 roku. Grali punk rocka z inteligentnymi tekstami. W 1986 roku zaprezentowali się na małej scenie na festiwalu jarocińskim. Często ich piosenki można było usłyszeć w punkowej audycji „Radio Nieprzemakalnych”. Sporadycznie grali koncerty, mieli trudności ze znalezieniem miejsca na próby. Zespół zakończył działalność w 1989 roku.
W drugiej połowie lat 80-ych sytuacja polskiego punka nie wyglądała najlepiej: festiwal w Jarocinie podupadał, a zainteresowanie ruchem słabło. W subkulturze szerzyła się degeneracja, zaczęły się też zadymy z nazi skinheadami. Nielicznym kapelom punkowym udało się wydać płyty w państwowych firmach, za co zostały oskarżone o zdradę ideałów. Zespoły punkowe w Polsce, szczególnie z małych miast (takie jak MAGISTER), odczuwały pustkę i brak przyszłości dla swoich działań. Dali temu wyraz w słowach piosenki W ciszy: Rozpacz i żal, że oddalamy się od siebie w ciszy. Dopiero po upadku socjalizmu w Polsce, zrodziła się scena niezależna. Idea Do it yourself (zrób to sam) stała się faktem.
