POPULARNE I ZAPAŁKI (THE POPULARS AND MATCHES) formed in 1988 in Świnoujście (West Pomeranian). They were playing alternative with cold wave and punk music. In 1995 has released their studio tape „Bohater nędznej książki” (The character of wretched book”) which is a summary of their musical achievements from 1988-1995. The band was broadcasted on Trójka – nationwide radio station. The line-up of this band changed a lot what was a reason to suspension in 1995.
The song „Kapłani szatana” („Satan’s priests”) is still actual. It shows dark side of the Church and its believers.

POPULARNE I ZAPAŁKI powstały w 1988 roku w Świnoujściu (woj. zachodniopomorskie). Grali muzykę alternatywną z domieszką zimnej fali i punka. W 1995 roku wyszła studyjna kaseta „Bohater nędznej książki”, będąca podsumowaniem ich dorobku muzycznego z lat 1988-1995. Zespół był emitowany kilka razy przez ogólnopolską radiową Trójkę. Skład kapeli często zmieniał się, co m.in. było przyczyną zawieszenia ich działalności w 1995 roku.
Tekst „Kapłani szatana” wciąż jest aktualny. Ukazuje ciemną stronę kościoła i jego wyznawców.
